Lee County welcomes the Boston Red Sox and the Minnesota Twins for spring training every year. Catch the spirit of fandom at JetBlue Park and the Lee Health Sports Complex, home of the Mighty Mussels, where the teams practice. Lee County is also home to the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic in the spring, which draws close to 75 men’s and women’s NCAA Division III softball and baseball teams to the region from across the country.

Lee County Public School District is one of the best in Florida according to Niche’s 2023 Best School Districts and is the 9th largest school district in the state. The county is also home to the beautiful campus of Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU), which offers a wide range of academic programs including 26 master’s and seven doctoral degrees.
